HELLO ALL. Today brings to an end our first full week working with the wonderful ladies of Kabeela. After 9 busy days of planning and settling in, it's probably time we introduce ourselves. From left to right in the picture above, we've got Manon, Katie, Oumar, Jean-Pascal the programme director, then there's Callum, Bintou, Tougma and Aladdin. Beautiful.

The ladies welcomed us in typical burkinabé fashion, with food, music, drinking and dancing, and whilst we're still struggling with all their names, after the welcome we've received we've no doubt that working with these amazing women will be an infinitely rewarding experience.

After the welcome, however, came the work. We've had a solid week of logistical planning and filling out forms, but we've come out the other side eager to do as much as we can in our new roles. The projects we will be working on are incredibly important to the women of Kabeela, and we hope to implement lasting change in the communities of Guilongou and the surrounding villages. With important work to be done raising awareness of the dangers of FGM in Burkina Faso, continued work to be done on the child sponsorship scheme and improvements to be made on the marketing of Kabeela's range of products, we have a lot to be getting on with. We'll be working on extremely important issues facing the women of today, so make sure to follow what we're doing!

We'll be regularly updating our Facebook and Twitter and there's also a vast range of information on what kabeela does to be found on its website, so to keep up to date with what's going on at Kabeela follow the links below. Feel free to contact us with any feedback or ideas, or if you just want to say hello.

Lots of love,
Cohort 9
